  • Recommendation

    The Special Olympics Team BC, Chilliwack, is in attendance to be recognized for their outstanding performance in 5-Pin Bowling at the “2024 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games”.

  • Recommendation

    Ray Ramey, President, Atchelitz Threshermen’s Association, is in attendance to provide Council with a presentation on the Annual User Group Report.

  • Recommendation

    That the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held March 19, 2024, be adopted as circulated.

  • Recommendation

    That the following bylaws be adopted:

    “Sanitary Sewer System Regulation Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2024, No. 5374”;
    “Consumption of Liquor in City Parks Bylaw 2024, No. 5382”; and,
    “Solid Waste Management Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2024, No. 5386”;

    and further, that the Minutes of the Public Safety Advisory Committee meeting held February 21, 2024, be received for information.

  • Recommendation

    That Council accept the quotation for three refurbished compactors, from Canadian Compactor Repair Ltd., in the amount of $89,591.68 (plus applicable taxes); and further, that the Mayor and Corporate Officer be authorized to sign any necessary documentation.

  • Recommendation

    That Council award the tender for the "Supply and Application of Dust Palliative" to Custom Tank Service, in the amount of $252,785.00 (plus applicable taxes), based on an estimated quantity of 650,000 litres; and further, that the Mayor and Corporate Officer be authorized to sign any necessary documentation.

  • Recommendation

    That Council approve the request from the Chilliwack Mural Festival Society for funding under the Community Development Initiatives Funding Policy, in the amount of $5,000.00, for the "2024 Chilliwack Mural Festival".

  • Recommendation

    That "Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2024, No. 5389", which proposes to rezone property located at 5870 Jinkerson Road from an RR (Rural Residential) Zone to an R3 (Small Lot Residential) Zone, be given first and second reading.

    That "Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2024, No. 5389", which proposes to rezone property located at 5870 Jinkerson Road from an RR (Rural Residential) Zone to an R3 (Small Lot Residential) Zone, be given third reading.

  • Recommendation

    That Council approve the issuance of Development Permit DP001749 with respect to property located at 43990 Progress Way, subject to the recommendations of the Design Review Advisory Committee and the conditions as stipulated within the draft Development Permit. (Presentation)

  • Recommendation

    That Council approve the request from Ruth and Naomi's Mission for funding under the Community Development Initiatives Funding Policy, in the amount of $56,000.00 for the "Downtown Cleanup Peer Employment Program".

  • Recommendation

    That Council grant a site specific exemption under the Floodplain Regulation Bylaw for the proposed industrial uses at 41723,7652 and 7560 Cannor Road to be situated at an elevation of 10.10 metres, subject to the conditions specified in the staff report dated February 15, 2024.

    That “Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2024, No. 5385, which proposes text amendments, be given third reading.

  • Recommendation

    That, subject to public representation, Council approve the issuance of Development Variance Permit DVP01350 with respect to property located at 43833 Progress Way, subject to the recommendations as stipulated within the draft Development Variance Permit.

  • Recommendation

    That Council approve the issuance of Development Permit DP001735, with respect to property located at 43833 Progress Way, subject to the recommendations of the Design Review Advisory Committee and the conditions as set out within the draft Development Permit.

  • Recommendation

    That, subject to public representation, Council approve the issuance of Development Variance Permit DVP01391 with respect to property located at 9029 Charles Street, subject to the recommendations as stipulated within the draft Development Variance Permit.

  • Recommendation

    That, subject to public representation, Council approve the issuance of Development Variance Permit DVP01395 with respect to property located at 8810 Young Road, subject to the recommendations as stipulated within the draft Development Variance Permit.

  • Recommendation

    That, subject to public representation, Council approve the issuance of Development Variance Permit DVP01402 with respect to property located at 48987 Chilliwack Central Road, subject to the recommendations as stipulated within the draft Development Variance Permit.
