Elena Farmer, Project Director, and Stephanie Rothman, Deputy Director, Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program, BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure are in attendance to provide Council with a presentation on the Highway 1 Widening Project.

  • Recommendation

    That the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held September 26, 2023, be adopted as circulated.

  • Recommendation

    That the following bylaws be adopted:

    “Sanitary Sewer System Regulation Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2023, No. 5341”;
    “Permissive Tax Exemption Bylaw 2023, No. 5351”;
    “Tax Exemption (Riparian Property) Bylaw 2023, No. 5352”;
    “Canada Education Park Lands Development Repeal Bylaw 2023, No. 5356”;
    “Holiday Shopping Regulation Repeal Bylaw 2023, No. 5357”;
    “Intensive Swine Operation Repeal Bylaw 2023, No. 5358”; and,
    “Shops Regulation Repeal Bylaw 2023, No. 5359”;

    and further, that the Minutes of the following Committee meetings be received for information:

    Accessibility and Inclusion Advisory Committee, held July 24, 2023;
    Heritage Advisory Committee, held September 7, 2023;
    Agricultural and Rural Advisory Committee, held September 14, 2023; and,
    Chilliwack Parks and Trails Advisory Committee, held September 14, 2023.

  • Recommendation

    That Council award the Tender for the 2023 Asphalt Rehabilitation Program to B.A. Blacktop Ltd., in the amount of $3,196,685.89 (plus applicable taxes); and further, that the Mayor and Corporate Officer be authorized to sign any necessary documentation.

  • Recommendation

    That Council accept the quotation for the "RFQ - 2023 Winter Road Salt", from LaFarge Asphalt Technologies in the amount of $145.00 per tonne, based on an estimated quantity of 5,500 tonnes (plus applicable taxes); and further, that the Mayor and Corporate Officer be authorized to sign any necessary documentation.

  • Recommendation

    That "Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2023, No. 5338", which proposes to rezone property located at 43614 Alameda Drive from an R1-A (Urban Residential) Zone to an R1-B (Urban Duplex Residential) Zone, be given first and second reading, and further, that a Public Hearing be called for October 24, 2023.

  • Recommendation

    That "Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2023, No. 5345", which proposes to rezone property located at 6040 Arlington Drive from an R1-A (Urban Residential) Zone to an R1-C (Urban Infill) Zone, be given first and second reading; and further, that a Public Hearing be called for October 24, 2023.

  • Recommendation

    That "Inter-municipal Business Licence Bylaw 2023, No. 5347", be given first and second reading.

  • Recommendation

    That "Inter-municipal Business Licence Bylaw 2023, No. 5347", be given third reading.

  • Recommendation

    That "Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2023, No. 5350", which proposes to rezone property located at 46591 Brice Road from an R1-A (Urban Residential) Zone to an R1-C (Urban Infill) Zone and an R3 (Small Lot Residential) Zone, be given first and second reading; and further, that a Public Hearing be called for October 24, 2023.

  • Recommendation

    That Council approve the issuance of Development Permit DP001740 with respect to property located at 10595 Bell Road, subject to the conditions as stipulated within the draft Development Permit.

  • Recommendation

    That Council approve the issuance of Development Permit DP001741 with respect to property located at 42079 Yarrow Central Road, subject to the conditions as stipulated within the draft Development Permit.

  • Recommendation

    That, in accordance with Section 90(1)(i) of the Community Charter, Council hold a Closed Meeting to discuss solicitor-client information.
