Yves Trudel, Regional Director, United Way British Columbia, is in attendance to provide Council with an update on local social issues in Chilliwack and share information about United Way investments, solutions and effective partnerships.

  • Recommendation

    That the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held February 7, 2023, be adopted as circulated.

  • Recommendation

    That Council award the Tender for the "2023-01 LED Street Lighting Retrofit Project - Phase 2" to Crown Contracting Limited, in the amount of $128,490.00 (plus applicable taxes); and further, that the Mayor and Corporate Officer be authorized to sign any necessary documentation.

  • Recommendation

    That Council authorize Staff to forward Request for Proposal documents to the following selected proponents for the "Dehumidifier Replacement – SSC Ice Rinks 1 and 2" at the Sardis Sports Complex:

    1. Fraser Valley Refrigeration Ltd.;
    2. Superior Refrigeration Ltd; and,
    3. Ram Mechanical Ltd.

  • Recommendation

    That a Public Hearing for "Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2021, No. 5068", which proposes to rezone properties located at 46193 Strathcona Road and 10195 Williams Road from an R1-A (Urban Residential) Zone to an R3 (Small Lot Residential) Zone, be called for March 7, 2023. 

  • Recommendation

    That "Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2023, No. 5281", which proposes to rezone property located at 46485 Portage Avenue, from an R1-A (Urban Residential) Zone to an R1-C (Urban Infill) Zone, be given first and second reading; and further, that a Public Hearing be called for March 7, 2023.

  • Recommendation

    That "Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2023, No. 5282", which proposes to rezone property located at 46045 Fourth Avenue, from an R1-A (Urban Residential) Zone to an R1-C (Urban Infill) Zone, be given first and second reading; and further, that a Public Hearing be called for March 7, 2023.

  • Recommendation

    That "Official Community Plan Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2023, No. 5283", which proposes a text amendment, to update the building protection guidelines (entry/exitway and windows) for Development Permit Area No. 4 (Downtown Form and Character), Development Permit Area No. 5 (Urban Corridor Form and Character), and Development Permit Area No. 6 (Commercial, Intensive/Multi-Family Residential, and Mixed Commercial-Residential Development Form and Character) be given first and second reading; and further, that a Public Hearing be called for March 7, 2023.  

  • Recommendation

    That Council approve the renewal of Temporary Use Permit TUP00150, with respect to property located at 46578 Yale Road, subject to the recommendations as stipulated within the Temporary Use Permit.
